How To Make A Window Bird Feeder Properly

By Debra Garrison

There are so many bird lovers out there who just love to look at them and admire them from a near distance. It is for this reason that the houses of people who love birds will more often have a small window bird feeder somewhere in their room. Now if one is interested in creating one for his own house, then follow these simple steps.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, making feeders is actually extremely easy and does not take so much time. Of course the proper materials will be needed in order to do this. The first thing that one would need to buy is a large plastic that is really made to become feeders.

So if one has gotten his hands on one of those plastic boxes, then he should attach it to the window securely. Fortunately, these boxes come with very secure brackets that allow the box to be able to carry the weight of a lot of heavy things. If the box does not come with the brackets, then it is still possible to buy some brackets in the hardware store.

If the box is now securely fastened, get some sand or some small rocks and fill up the box with these components. Now in order for one not to spend all day scooping up small rocks from somewhere outside, he may just buy these things from the store. He may also opt to buy aquarium sand or gravel from the pet store if he does not like to carry heavy things like stones or sand.

After filling up the box, then the next step would be to take probably around five little cups and put some birdseed in them. Each cup should be filled with a different kind of birdseed so that many birds will flock to the feeder. Always make sure to bury the cups very deep in the rocks or sand so that it is secure.

Now once all of the technical things have been handle, the next thing to take care of would be the artistic aspect of the process. In order for the feeder to look pleasing to the eyes, one may put some plants or flowers. Another great thing to do would be to paint the large plastic box so that the striking colors will attract more birds.

One last thing to take note of would be that it is possible for other small animals to stay in the feeder. Animals like squirrels and chipmunks especially love these kinds of things because they will feel like they are at home. So do not be surprised of tenants other than the birds will appear out of nowhere.

So as one can see, making a window bird feeder is extremely easy and quick. As long as one follows the process, then he will have no problem making feeders really fast. When he has already made one, then he can just sit down and enjoy.
